Tooth Decay Afflicts 76% of First-Grade Middle School StudentsThe government has decided to emphasize dental care in elementary schools after seven out of 10 middle-school students were found to have dental caries.
On February 27 the Ministry of Health and Welfare announced plans to set up dental health centers in 32 elementary schools in 12 cities, and dispatch dentists and dental hygenists to give dental education in schools between two and five times a week.
