Unique Concert Planned for September 30

An unconventional sort of concert which will involve input from ordinary people is going to be performed. Parts of the concert, evidently, will be performed via the Internet by everyday people. Citizens as well as professional performers have participated in the planning and direction of the event.

The People's Solidarity for Participatory Democracy (PSPD) hatched the idea for this concert, which will use the Seoul Art Center's outdoor ampitheater as its venue. The purpose of the concert is to celebrate the sixth anniversary of the creation of the PSPD. Profits will go to their public activities fund. The PSPD's homepage is at peoplepower21.org.

The concert is titled 'flinging too many words to the world.' A PSPD representative explained that "the title indicates that people should speak truly and frankly, and shouldn't just pointlessly echo the words of others."

In order to determine the planning and direction of the concert as well as select the performers, the PSPD operated a citizens participation corner on Internet sites like Daum, Empass and Netian from August 2 to 11

Tickets can be reserved at Ticketlink (www.ticketlink.co.kr) and at Interpark (www.interpark.com). All questions should be directed to the PSPD's cultural business division at 02-723-4254.
