Yekyong Publishes New Series of Art Books

Yekyong Publications is releasing a new series of art books called simply 'Korean Art Books.' The series provides helpful information and colorful illustrations to increase appreciation of Korean art.

The books have strong art history sections which explain and display Korean folk art such as gold Buddhist statues.

Each book costs between 10,000 and 16,000 won, or between $9.00 and $14.50.

Previously published art books have generally lacked historical explanation, thus the presence of historical information is what sets the Yekyong series apart.

One publishing company representative said the books can be considered 'pocket size art galleries.' Seven books in the series have been published so far; 16 will be published in total.
