[LETTERS TO THE EDITOR]Chat rooms are flowing with trash

Recently, I read in a news article that many teenagers have been approached for sexual relations while chatting on the Internet. As an active user of the Internet, I know several chat rooms that are popular among teenagers. If my memory serves me right, chat rooms with lewd and lecherous titles were once found only on adult-only sites. But now obscenity can be found everywhere online, even on sites for elementary school students.

I sent e-mail to the Webmaster of one site, asking that the chat rooms be more tightly controlled, but my request was unanswered. One person can do only so much to combat this problem.

The future of the children exposed to such distorted and perverted sexuality does not hold much potential. Just a little bit of concern for these kids is all it takes to change things. Hoping that, I am writing this letter to help them.
