[LETTERS TO THE EDITOR]Online store did not meet delivery date

I prefer purchasing books from online bookstores due to the low prices and quick delivery. I ordered about 20 books from an Internet bookstore two weeks ago. Delivery ordinarily takes only about 3 to 5 days.

Ten days after placing my order, the books still were not delivered, so I visited the Web site again to check my purchase. I found a short memo saying delivery will be delayed due to an avalanche of purchases because of a recent promotion. There was no explanation on how long the delay would be.

I decided to cancel my purchase so that I could order from another online bookstore. But the cancellation page was down.

If the bookstore had planned a sales event, then it should have prepared for the rush of orders.
