Problems Plague World Cup Tickets

World Cup ticket sales, which began with the distribution of a first round of application forms last week, have hit turbulence as online sales, reportedly delayed due to technological problems, are still paralyzed and paper application forms for tickets have run out.

Online sales of tickets, postponed already by a week, will possibly start in two to three days, according to the Korean World Cup Organizing Committee. FIFA, the soccer tournament's overseer, explained that the problem was caused by a lack of preparation on the part of the company in charge of marketing.

As for paper forms, around 9,600 were registered on the first day of distribution in Korea and are increasing. In Japan, the forms ran out and are reportedly being auctioned on the Internet.
