University Ousts 2 Musicians

The pop idol Yoo Soo-young, a member of the music trio SES, commonly known as Shoo, and Lee Sun-ho, a member of the music group Shinhwa, had their college admission canceled Wednesday by the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. The pair allegedly entered the school illegally through a special admission program for students with foreign language skills.

"We canceled their admission because Korea Kent Foreign School, from which they graduated, is not acknowledged as a regular high school according to the education law," a university official said.

After charging that a Korean-American broker, identified only as Park, helped students fake their college applications with the help of an official at Kent, the Seoul District Prosecutors Office asked him to return to Korea to answer questions, which he declined to do. He is studying in the United States.

The prosecution said it has found 44 students who forged their college applications in the program for those living abroad.
