[LETTERS TO THE EDITOR]Give, get happiness in small ways

I read “Great moments come in degrees” on Page 7 (Aug. 26) on my flight to Tokyo from Korea. The writing moved me deeply. Everyone is always looking for something to be happy about or to give happiness to someone in his lifetime even if the person is satisfied with the present moment. As the writer says, “A great moment may be part of an ordinary day. A kind word, a helping hand, a small smile; all can be great moments.” I agree. Perhaps there are lots of great moments that we don’t notice. I have some Korean friends and made new ones during my stay in Korea last week. To meet new people is wonderful and it sometimes gives me encouragement. I’ve been negative about my future lately, and I’m still looking for some answer here. But thanks to talking to people in Korea, I can think positively more than before. My viewpoint is wider.

I recognized that I should give thanks for my environment and try to give people a little bit of happiness.
