[HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEK]Britain and Korea stage 'Othello'

Britain's Royal Opera House presents this version of Verdi's classic opera "Othello," using an all-Korean cast. Runs until Saturday at the Seoul Arts Center. For information, see www.sac.or.kr.

The Venetian-ruled island of Cyprus is besieged by a Turkish fleet. Othello, a Moor in the service of Venice, has been appointed to command the island's forces against the attackers. He is accompanied on Cyprus by his wife, Desdemona, his ensign, Iago, and Cassio, a captain. He leads his fleet into battle against the Turks.

Othello trusts Iago, not knowing his companion lusts after Desdemona and is determined to have her at any cost.
