[HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEK]Marathon season sets the pace

With the weather cooling down, some great running weather is on its way.

Almost every weekend for the next couple of months features one or more marathons. But you'll have to register early -- most marathons in Korea have surprisingly early closing dates, especially the big races like the Chosun Ilbo and JoongAng Ilbo marathons.

Coming up this Sunday is the Ganghwa Beach Marathon, at Ganghwa Beach (naturally enough) in Incheon. Ganghwa offers full marathon, 32-kilometer, and 10-kilometer courses. Registration takes place at 9 a.m., and the race begins at 10 a.m. For more information, call (032) 452-0196.
