[HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEK]Runners to mark Marathon of Hope

On April 12, 1980, the cancer patient Terry Fox dipped his artificial leg into the Atlantic Ocean off Newfoundland, then began a courageous attempt to run across Canada. Mr. Fox's Marathon of Hope, to raise money for cancer research, covered 3,339 miles. He was forced to stop short of reaching his goal because his cancer had spread to his lungs. Mr. Fox died in June 1981, a month before his 23d birthday. But his marathon lives on.

The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Korea will hold a 5-kilometer/10-kilometer Terry Fox Run on Sept. 29 in Yeouido, Seoul. Registration ends Sunday. For more information, visit the chamber's Web site at www.ccck.org.
