[NEW FILMS]"Camel(s)"
Published: 06 Jan. 2003, 00:17
Drama / 91 min. / Korean -- Opens Friday
This low-budget black-and-while feature, filmed in just 12 days, grabbed the critics' attention at last year's Busan International Film Festival. It has since gone on to success at a handful of prestigious film festivals including Berlin.
"Camel(s)" tells the tale of a woman and a man, both married, middle-aged and with families, who meet and go on a short trip to the west coast. Why? Because they sense they have something in common. Their decision is so sudden that they only learn each other's names en route to the sea.
They drive, eat and talk about themselves. They go to a karaoke room and then a motel in this pensive, introspective drama.
Directed by Park Gi-Yong. Starring Lee Dae-yeon and Park Myeong-shin.
