Comedy / 122 min. / English -- Opens today

The director Albert Brooks turns his satiric gaze on the film industry in this comedy about a screenwriter who has lost his edge. Steven Philips (Brooks) is mired with writer's block, unable to compose a decent sentence. Desperate, he hears that there's a bona fide Muse in Hollywood, Sarah (Sharon Stone). Steven contacts Sarah, hoping a good, strong dose of inspiration will get his career on track. However, Sarah's late hours and endless demands for chauffeurs, chefs and board at the Four Seasons don't exactly help Steven's relationship with his wife (Andie MacDowell). "The Muse" (1999) features music by Elton John, and cameos by several film figures, including Martin Scorsese, Rob Reiner and James Cameron.
