[LETTERS TO THE EDITOR]Phone spam now a major irritant here
Apparently, many companies are using the telephone to market themselves these days. I receive one to two calls every day. But I really wonder how effective these efforts are, since not many people welcome such calls. It is not so much the content but the manners in which the content is delivered. The caller takes no account of what time it is and what the recipient is doing at the time. The diarrhea of commercial comment floods out without end.More than often have I received these calls while eating, sleeping or busy at some task. Thus I end up forgetting my manners. I wish the callers would be taught some basic etiquette.
And how do these people get my number? Is my private information exposed to that extent?
Posters and leaflets stuck on walls are subject to legal action. Phone calls should be also.
