&#91LETTERS TO THE EDITOR&#93Tourists left trail of litter

During 60 years of living in Korea, I never traveled around the country or to a foreign nation. Vacation was not part of my life. But my children gave me a trip to Thailand for my 62nd birthday.
It was a group tour. The trip to Thailand was via Hong Kong. That is where all the shame began. Korean travelers littered wherever they went. Newspapers and tissue were strewn everywhere. It was the same on the airplane. By the time we landed in Thailand, the airplane was a trash bin owing to the passengers, 90 percent of whom were Korean. I was so ashamed.
The meals were mostly buffets. People dropped food on the floor as they greedily piled their dish. Readers may think I am exaggerating, but believe me, wherever the Korean tourists went, it turned into a zoo.
I sincerely hope this does not occur again. Travel agencies should invest some time to inform people of basic etiquette.
