&#91LETTERS TO THE EDITOR&#93Emergency response lacking

My toddler locked the car doors when all the adults were outside the car. It was 1 p.m. and the weather was getting hot.
I called my auto insurance company because I was registered with an emergency dispatch service. Trusting them, I sat next to the car and waited, but no one came. Frustrated and fearful, I called again. Their excuse was that the clerk had made a mistake in recording my phone number, which she had to dial to confirm the dispatch. What a lame excuse.
Luckily, I was able to save my child from suffocating. A passer-by helped me open the locked door.
A life was at risk because of a number. Wake up, people. You have my registration ― look it up!
