LG to resume SK phone deliveries
LG Electronics Inc. reported yesterday it would resume delivery of its mobile handsets serving SK Telecom prefixes 011 and 017 to SK Global Co. SK Global distributed LG handsets to mobile handset retailers until April 7 in the wake of the SK affiliate’s involvement in a massive accounting scandal. Handset providers demanded creditors of SK Global jointly take responsibility for handset payments or pay for the handsets in cash. An LG associate said they reached an agreement with SK Global to resume deliveries of mobile handsets. Other mobile handset producers, including Pantech Co. and Motorola Inc., serving SK Telecom prefixes are expected to resume delivery of handsets to SK Global. The firms have joined LG in suspending delivery of handsets.
