The recent article by Chun Su-jin that appeared in the Joong Ang Daily (“Class Act,” J-Style, April 16) about people with false qualifications teaching English in Korea was very good.
I think the article has made people here more aware of fraudulent English teachers. Not only do many have false qualifications, but they embellish resumes with fictitious teaching experience.
I have heard several English teachers here discuss the article, and they are annoyed that people cheat more qualified teachers out of jobs. I hope the article will lead to more people with false qualifications and experience being exposed, and therefore an increase in the quality of teachers.
