Celebrating art, fashion at a gallery’s opening

It was an evening of great music, fashion and art.
The mood at Startower Gallery’s recent opening was set by the jazz singer William Washington and his three-piece band.
Interior designers, art collectors and fashion pros rubbed elbows and sipped wine while admiring paintings in the Korean artist Chae Eun-mi’s “Gold Light” series and “Contemplating Space” series.
Then the crowd made way for the fashion show, as models pranced ever so gracefully in their Troa dresses. The “ageless modern women,” as designer Han Song refers to the models, wore a total of 40 slim, minimalist cocktail dresses, pants and evening dresses in black, pearl grey, khaki and white silk.
Ms. Chae’s exhibition continues until May 10. The Startower Gallery is located on the second floor of the Star Tower building in Yeoksam-dong, southern Seoul. For more information, call (02) 2112-2988 or visit the Web site www.startowergallery.com.
