Dream carmakers strut their stuff at Italian trade commission show

What does it take to create a dream car?
Four carmakers from Italy ― Bertone, Pininfarina, Italdesign Giugiaro and I.DE.A Institute ― share several elements in common. For nearly a century, the leading Italian automotive companies have worked to develop innovative designs and cutting-edge technology, which later became Italian design in cars by Ferrarri, Alfa Romeo, Lamborghini, Fiat and many other familiar international marques.
Their artistry was on display in “Shape Mission: Car Design in Turin and Piedmont” at the Korea Design Center in Bundang, south of Seoul. The show presented methodology and know-how identified as uniquely Italian, including creative inspiration, modeling, technical and design application and co-production with global partners in the fast-changing modern era.
Featuring manual tools from the pioneering days to prototypes of future models, the exhibition focused on the passionate, yet simple and practical aspect of Italian designs and the cultural impact of Italy’s Piedmont region as the core of the world’s automobile industry. For aspiring car designers and fans of famous cars in Korea, “Shape Mission” was all about dreaming about their future life in the fast lane.
The show was organized by the Italian Trade Commission in Korea.
