I would like to comment on your story of July 7, headlined, “Small firms eyeing Gaeseong.” [The article noted the number of smaller Korean companies that were looking into the possibility of operating at the proposed Gaeseong industrial complex, an inter-Korean economic cooperation project. It noted that one of the attractions was wage levels lower than in China and also included comments about the lack of cultural barriers.]
I am glad to see some coverage of what smaller Korean companies are doing in international business. It was interesting to note that some companies wanted to switch from China to North Korea to overcome cultural barriers.
My guess is that they will find surprising cultural barriers in North Korea as well.
