&#91LETTERS TO THE EDITOR&#93Back of bus is a pain in the posterior

I take an express bus frequently but sometimes I am allotted a back seat after paying the fare. It is very inconvenient to have to sit in the back of the bus.
The engines of the buses are located in the rear, and the constant noise is very bothersome. The air-conditioning and heating in the seats at the back of the bus are much less effective than in the front seats. And on a deluxe express bus, which have foot rests for passengers, people sitting in the rear seats do not have that luxury.
Most of all, I cannot help feeling that I might be injured fatally in a car accident sitting in the rear, which makes my journey very uncomfortable. It is unfair that I should pay the same rate as passengers seated in the front seats.
Express bus companies should give a discount to persons who have to sit in the rear of the bus, just as real estate companies give discounts to people who buy apartments on the top floors.
