Funky shapes, positive energy ― and it gets you clean, too

Cleaning behind your ears has never been as classy, or fun, as today. The offerings range from exfoliating gels with citrus scents to funky shapes of soap. The big decision now is whether to lather with soap or liquid cleanser.

CLEANSING BARS
Clinique’s classic 3-Step Program starts with soap. Three types are available ― mild, extra mild and oily. The low-lathering soap is hand-milled to create a long-lasting bar made with extra emollients. The soap loosens dead skin cells, removes soil and excess oil and prepares the skin for toner. Cost is 22,000 won ($18).

The Rosemary Mint line at Aveda includes a bar made with organic essential oils that cleanses, moisturizes and smells uplifting. The blend of rosemary, peppermint, lavender and marjoram creates a refreshing scent. Glycerin and palm oil extracts are added to work with the rosemary to moisturize skin. Meanwhile, rosemary and peppermint leaf powders exfoliate. Cost is 19,000 won.

Let’s Circulate by Origins takes exfoliation to another level. The bumpy shape was created to release surface toxins and negative forces, while increasing the flow of positive energy through your body. It sounds wacky, but with a shape this funky, cleaning has never been more fun. Cost is 18,000 won.

One of the more popular gift items at Fresh is the Petit Soap. It’s made with a pure vegetable base and enriched with moisturizing shea butter. Fragrances range from fresh to extoic. The hand-wrapped packaging changes from season to season. Cost is 15,000 won.

LIQUID CLEANSERS
Vichy’s Cleansing Water launched in August. Micellar technology groups cleansing agents into micelles that trap impurities. Thus, rubbing is not required. Ultra-soothing rose phytophenol calms the nerves. Hypoallergenic, alcohol-free, coloring-free, soap-free and PH-neutral for all skin types, especially sensitive. Cost is 24,000 won.

The Chamomile Cleansing Lotion by Peter Thomas Roth is created for all skin types. The gentle formula ― glycerin, cocamidopropyl betaine, lauroamphocarboxyglycinate, sodium hydroxide and natural chamomile extract - removes makeup, environmental pollutants and excess skin oils. Cost is 68,000 won.

Battle pollution and fatigue with proper skin care. Hydra Detox is one of the most popular cleansers in Biotherm’s men’s line. This lightweight cleanser is specially designed to remove sweat, dirt, oil and daily impurities from the skin. The citrus scent helps revitalize the senses. Cost is 30,000 won.

The combination of aloe vera gel, clove oil and papaya extract creates a gentle cleansing formula for the Decleor Cleansing and Exfoliating Face Gel for Men. Micro-beads and diatom clay help remove impurities and dead skin cells and lift ingrown hairs. Good in the morning before shaving or in the evening for deep cleansing. Cost varies.
