The interest among foreigners about the rankings of Korean universities may be greater than you think.
Korean universities are all trying to hire more foreign staff to catch up with other Asian universities for a world-class curriculum and foreign student enrollment. For example, the University of Singapore has over 50 percent foreign staff in all departments versus Korea University with only 50 foreign teachers in a total of 3,500 full-time professors.
This makes the information on Korean universities extremely valuable to foreign students and professors alike.
Korea University plans to double the number of foreign professors next year. At that rate it will take only 30 years to catch up with the University of Singapore.
