[LETTERS TO THE EDITOR]No jihadists at MadarisThe activities of Madari religious schools in Pakistan have generally been misreported and misunderstood. Eight thousand Madaris are registered with the government, and the Ministry of Education sent a questionnaire to them in 2001. There were replies from 1,200. It has been proposed that English, mathematics, Pakistan studies/social studies and general science will be taught as additional subjects in 4,000 primary level Madaris.
No anti-western Jihadist massages are a part of the teachings at Madaris.
