[LETTERS TO THE EDITOR]School no rights champion

The women’s health article (Jan. 7) caught my attention mostly because of its reference to Sookmyung University. In spite of its being a “women’s university,” this institution does little to promote female rights in Korea. It is little more than a large high school. For example, Hwang Sun-hae, the current dean of students, was recently married and never fails to mention that in her speeches. In spite of her many academic acomplishments, she defined herself “as a married woman” in a recent address. She may one day become president of this university.
