[LETTERS TO THE EDITOR]Radio blares on the bus

This March, I will become a high school senior. Every minute, every second, is precious to me since I have to prepare for college, and so I utilize the time I spend going to and from school on the bus listening to foreign language tapes. These days, however, it is difficult to do so because the bus driver turns up the volume on the radio. The radio is even louder than the public system. No matter how high I set the volume of my tape player, I can’t listen well enough and must give up my studies.
It would be better if the bus turned on the news or some program that was informative, but most of the time the programs are just chatter ― talking about this and that with no particular topic.
Many people listen to their own music or read on the bus. I am sure that there are a lot of people who don’t like the noisy sound of the loud radio. Bus drivers should think first about their passengers before they turn on the radio.
