[LETTERS TO THE EDITOR]As you sow, you shall reap

A few days ago, the illness of one of my cousins was diagnosed as leukemia.
My aunt asked me to give her all the certificates of blood donations I have, because my cousin will need many blood transfusions. With such certificates, he will be able to get a discount on the price of those blood transfusion. So I looked for my blood donation certificates and discovered only two. I felt ashamed.
Many Koreans have the wrong idea that their health can be damaged through donating blood. But experts say that blood donations in proper amounts are good for the donor’s health. In addition, the blood is needed urgently by patients, and the certificates of blood donation can be useful to the donor himself and to his family members in the future.
