[LETTERS TO THE EDITOR]Please abide by the law

Whenever our country overcomes difficult situations, there are many unsung heroes who work hard while keeping low profile. I think government officials are some of those people. But recently, I have seen some disturbing signs.
The Government Employees Union announced its support for the Democratic Labor Party. The teachers’ union opposed the impeachment of President Roh Moo-hyun.
Now I understand their stance. As an ordinary citizen, I often find myself steaming at the political situation. However, this does not mean that government officials can ignore the law.
Government officials should not forget that public servants are legally mandated to maintain neutrality while serving the nation at this difficult time.
