[LETTERS TO THE EDITOR]Condolences from Kurds, fellow victims of terror
Published: 27 Jun. 2004, 21:48
On behalf of the Kurds, I would like to extend our deepest sympathy to the Korean nation for the execution of one of its citizens by terrorists operating in Iraq.
That South Korea would continue to deploy troops to Iraq and southern Kurdistan shows the resolve of free countries such as South Korea to defy the terrorists and ruthless regimes. The Kurdish people can only hope to be one such free nation.
I continue to implore the Korean public to understand further the crisis in Iraq and southern Kurdistan ― the fault lies solely with the terrorist international network whose objection is to spread terror around the world and to “Islamicize” other countries.
The Kurdish people have undertaken a resolve never to bow down to such terrorists or Saddam-like regimes that exist throughout the Middle East.
Please extend Kurdish sympathy to the Korean public. This is what Kurds have suffered for decades under Arabic, Iranian, and Turkish rule.
