Scholar reaches high

Korean scholars rarely publish a book through the prestigious British publishing house Cambridge University Press. Kim Sung-ho, a political science professor at Yonsei University, has done just that, however, with his book “Max Weber’s Politics of Civil Society.”
Mr. Kim originally wanted to study Karl Marx, but his plans changed. “Max Weber thought the educational function of civil society was cardinal,” says Mr. Kim. “Not only in major issues such as impeachment and dispatch of forces but also on minor problems such as recycling trash.”
