[LETTERS TO THE EDITOR]English-speaking doctorsMore government interference on daily lives. Why not allow the marketplace to dictate whether a doctor has the right to practice?
I do not know the statistics and would be interested in finding out how many doctors in Korea speak Korean only compared to those who can’t. I have been in Korea eight years now and visited untold clinics in search of a doctor who speaks English well enough.
It would be a matter of seconds for a Korean to discover his doctor can’t speak Korean and two minutes more to locate one who can. If Koreans do not want the non-Korean doctor, they easily may choose another without government dictates.
Such government heavy-handedness only further alienates foreigners in Korea and isolates Korea from the rest of the world even further.
