Japanese party crew headed for Cheongdam-dong

If Korea is red-hot in Japan right now ― pop-culture-wise, at least ―the reverse is equally true. Tonight, for instance, various trendsetters are gearing up for a hips event with Japanese roots, the “Femme Fatale Night Party” at Club Tri Beca in southern Seoul.
The bash will feature “Famfatal Girls,” an all-female party production company from Japan. Having collaborated in the past with such renowned names in the club scene as Monika Cruse and Ellen Allien of Germany and Re-Boot of Tokyo, this group, which consists of organizers, DJs and performers, has thrown dance parties in Osaka’s “Under Lounge” as well as clubs in Tokyo and Kyoto.
The entourage’s one-night visit to Seoul is led by the founders of Famfatal Girls, DJs Satsuki and Dora from Osaka. These two will be spinning their own unique sound, which is a cool concoction of progressive house, hard house and disco, spiced with some techno essence.
DJ Dora has worked as an organizer and resident DJ for fashionable parties in Japan; since her performance at the “Plus Osaka” party and her Malaysian tour in 2004, she has had a big following among clubbers.
DJ Satsuki is a prodigy who started at age 16 and has since collaborated with big-name DJs from around the world. Guest DJs are Kevin on funky house, Eugene Blake (U.K. house) and Darren Lee (San Francisco house), all of whom are based in Korea.
Accompanying the two female DJ’s will be a series of lively visual performances by four erotic club dancers (or “go-go girls”), decked out to impress in vibrant, sexy costumes. Yuzuki, Yoshirin, Mizera and EMI, who are stars of the Osaka party scene, will offer local guests a rare chance to indulge in erotica Japanese-style. The dancer EMI is scheduled to perform her famous “fire show.”
“Femme Fatale Night Party” starts tonight at 8 p.m. and goes until 3 a.m; the cost of admission, which includes one drink, is 30,000 won ($30). The dress code, we’re informed, is “white and blue or sexy blue jeans.”
Club Tri Beca is located behind the Hard Rock Cafe in Cheongdam-dong. For more information, call the local planners, MK Project (011-9901-1868) or Red Carpet (011-784-8406).
