[LETTERS TO THE EDITOR]More coverage of safety
Published: 17 Mar. 2005, 22:01
I write in response to your article, “Firemen guard city that’s safe, or lucky” (March 7).
When we heard that the JoongAng Daily covered a story about Seoul firefighters on March 7, every office of Jongno Fire Station bought a copy each and read the story in earnest.
I think that it will be helpful for the readers if the paper would continue to write about what people could do in emergency situations such as where people could evacuate in particular situations. Also, as more foreigners are residing in Korea, I think it is important that foreigners become aware of what they could do to protect themselves in emergency situations.
I believe that generating an image and an environment that Korea is a safe country would be one of the ways to improve the nation’s credit ratings.
