U-20 team takes Suwon Cup after a draw with Argentina

Korea won the 2005 U-20 Suwon Cup after drawing with Argentina 1-1 in their final match on Saturday. “The newcomers played better than expected,” said Park Sung-hwa, the coach of the youth team. “I feel that I found very good players.”
Korea trailed Argentina until the 49th minute of the second half, when Lee Kang-jin’s penalty shot evened the game. For the four-nation friendly event, Korea posted two wins and one draw, coming in ahead of the United States, which had two wins and one loss.
Korea beat both Egypt and the United States 1-0. The home side was a man down when midfielder On Byong-hun was sent off in the 38th minute after receiving a red card for pulling down an opponent from behind.
In the 41st minute of the second half, Matias Abelairas scored for Argentina even as Korea continued to apply pressure. A free kick in the 47th minute saw Jung In-hwan trying an overhead shot, but he was injured in a tackle. Lee scored from the resulting penalty.
