Nepalese get free Xmas feast
On Christmas day, Hanyang University students and school officials held a party for Nepalese migrant workers in cooperation with the Nepalese consulate in Korea. The volunteer group invited 50 Nepalese workers to the college where students and school officials served food in Santa Claus outfits and performed Korean traditional music. To soothe homesickness, the group also invited two Nepalese singers and served Nepalese food.“At first, most Nepalese workers were unwilling to come, but after we explained that students voluntarily prepared the event, more workers applied for the program,” said Guk Jung-dae, one of the organizers.
Last year the group held a Christmas party for Mongolian students.
