[Talk of the town]TRANSGENDER PIONEER TO TIE THE KNOT

Korea’s first transgender pop singer, Harisu, is marrying her rapper boyfriend in May. The wedding is going to be a lavish affair at the Millennium Hall of Central City Mall in Banpo-dong.
“I was going to announce the wedding as a surprise during my fan meeting,” the 32-year-old singer said in a telephone interview with JoongAng Entertainment and Sports. “But everyone seems to know about it already.”
“Actually, we have been thinking about getting married since last year,” she added.
Harisu met her boyfriend, Jung Yong-jin, 26, two years ago. Jung, who goes by Mickey Jung, is a rapper for an indie band at the moment. He is a college graduate, has completed his military service and has experience working in an office. The couple wants to adopt a baby.
