Out of sadness, new hope

미국 버지니아공대 참사 이래 6일이 지났고/ 시간은 상처를 치유해 내고 있다.
Sadness has ebbed,/ and hope is rising in its place.
슬픔은 침전물로 가라앉고/ 비극의 물잔 위로는 다시 희망이 떠오르고 있다.
That Americans showed a mature response to the accident,/ Koreans shared their grief and condolences and a sincere effort/ to prevent another tragedy from happening by both sides/ has contributed to a new hope.

They showed concern and generosity to the crippled soul/ that committed the heinous crime.

But Koreans felt differently.

Koreans grieved and felt sorry about the accident,/ as part of their close solidarity/ that is beyond Western understanding.
