Earthquake rattles northwestern Japan


A national highway is severed by a powerful quake in Nagaoka, northwestern Japan, on July 16. A 6.7-magnitude earthquake rocked Japan's northwest coast and media reports said at least seven people were killed and more than 800 injured. [AP]
