“Korea-English Terminology for Beginners” by Lee Jin-young is an updated compilation of vocabulary and industry terminology that is frequently used at international conventions and meetings. The book will be handy for students, translators and interpreters. It has a wealth of information on the names of governmental and social organizations, systems and laws in Korea that have been used by Lee in the field, including samples from international conventions. Divided into well-organized sectors, the chapters cover terminology for social, cultural and political issues in the media, education, religion, politics, security and science and technology. The divisions are then broken down into narrower topics, for example, there are separate chapters in the energy section for gas, electricity, nuclear power and alternative energy. It also has an index of organizations and departments, common references and names related to the subject. For example, in energy resources it has a separate box for “British Thermal Units,” and “Energy Star,” a special index used to trace consumers’ energy efficiency. By Park Soo-mee
