Shameless

Is there no bottom or end to the shamelessness of outgoing President Roh Moo-hyun? After spending his tenure in the presidency vilifying those with expensive property ― paid for with their own money ― our president is having a 22 billion won ($23.3 million) house built for himself out of the public purse, as if he did a stellar job to deserve such a reward, considering that Roh of late hasn’t even been faithfully safeguarding the Constitution as he has sworn to do, praising North Korea’s leaders and not defending the Northern Limit Line. With a Roh trait of always wanting someone held accountable for actions (even for ancestors’ misdeeds almost a century ago), I hope South Korean taxpayers are saved the wastefulness of his proposed mansion and instead wait to see whether Roh doesn’t swap the pinstripes of the Blue House for the prison stripes of the “Big House.”
