[Talk of the town]A jazz sun rises for Korean vocalist Sunny Kim’s ‘Keep Your Heart Right’

테스트

Jazz vocalist Sunny Kim.

Jazz vocalist Sunny Kim, 29, has made it. At the end of next month, she is releasing a jazz album titled “Keep Your Heart Right.”

There’s more.

Her album will be produced by Sunnyside Records, an American jazz and world music label that has produced renowned jazz albums by Charles Mingus, Gil Evans and Nina Simone.

Kim was the talk of the town last August for participating in the Newport Jazz Festival.

Keep Your Heart Right includes accompaniment by renowned trombone performer Roswell Rudd and his quartet.

The album also contains 10 songs in English, which Kim sang at the Newport Jazz Festival.

The album will be distributed worldwide starting in September. She is the first Korean to work with Sunnyside, according to the artist.

“It’s an honor to introduce my songs to a variety of fans from America and Europe,” Kim said, during a phone interview with Yonhap on Monday.

“I’m happy to work with jazz musicians whom I studied in school.”
