ROLLING HALL

Friday: “Envy 2008 Seoul Tour.” Envy will be performing in Seoul to celebrate the release of its new album, titled “Insomniac Doze.”

Envy is considered one of the leading independent Japanese bands and has been a regular feature of the independent hard-core scene in Japan.

The five-member band debuted in 1992 and has released four albums featuring many famous artists.

Aside from performing the songs off the new album, this concert will satisfy the fans of the rock genres screamo and metal, and indie rock lovers.

Korean garage band Bullssazo will be the show’s special guest. Standing tickets for the show cost 40,000 won. The show begins at 8 p.m.

MELON AX HALL

Friday to Saturday: “Sin Hae-choel 20th Anniversary Concert.” Shin Hae-cheol is holding a concert to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his debut.

The concert, themed “Remembrance,” will not focus on elaborate stage and lighting effects, but on the musical performance itself. Shin’s fans will be able to hear stories about Shin’s music development, from his beginning as a member of the band Endless Track to the heavy rock band Next.

Tickets range from 55,000 won to 66,000 won.

The concert begins at 8 p.m. on Friday and at 7 p.m. on Saturday.

MELON AX HALL

Sunday: “Tae-yang Concert ? Hot.” Tae-yang, from the popular Korean group Big Bang, is giving his first concert after the release of his debut solo album titled “HOT” in May.

Tae-yang’s album received positive reviews not only from his fans but also from many established entertainers for his artistic style and delicate voice. The Big Bang member is also acknowledged as a great live performer. For this concert, aside from the songs that are included in his album, Tae-yang will sing many well-known pop songs.

Standing tickets at the concert are 44,000 won.

The shows begin at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.

CLUB CATCH

Sunday: “Sweet My Own Summer 2008.” The rock band Vanilla Unity is back with the new metal band Pia of Seotaeji Company and Starbow.

This performance will be the first concert before the release of new albums by both Pia and Vanilla Unity who are also preparing to participate in upcoming summer music festivals. This concert is a great opportunity to hear the new songs of these bands, before they are released.

Also, rising stars Gukkasten and Manggakhwa will feature as special guests. Standing tickets for the concert cost 22,000 won. The concert starts at 6 p.m.
