The Day the Earth Stood Still (12)

This is a remake of a renowned sci-fi classic. Living as a single mother, scientist Helen Benson (Jennifer Connelly) one day finds herself in a group of scientists summoned by the government. Their mission: to help Earth survive the impact of a foreign object from space.

But as fate would have it, the object is in fact a spacecraft that lands safely in New York. Its inhabitant is Klaatu (Keanu Reeves), an alien in the form of a man who is there to decide whether Earth is still inhabitable, despite the damage that humankind has caused.

Klaatu finds himself targeted by the U.S. Secretary of Defense (Kathy Bates), who is determined to get rid of him. Helen and her son (Jaden Smith) find themselves caught in the middle of this epic, political battle.



Niko and The Way to the Stars (All)

Niko the reindeer has only wish: to fly. But because he has vertigo, everyone else except his best friend Julius, a squirrel, laughs at him. Niko learns that his father was one of Santa Claus’ legendary flying reindeer. One day, Niko overhears some wolves plotting to eat all of Santa’s reindeers. As Niko races the wolves to reach Santa first, he befriends Vilma, a beautiful weasel.

Will they make it to the North Pole and save Christmas? Or will the wolves succeed in their dastardly plot?



Thomas Kinkade’s Home for Christmas (All)

This movie is about Thomas Kinkade, a painter of light. Kinkade (Jared Padelecki) is a promising artist, but he’s mired in his mother’s financial troubles. His mother is about to lose her home in an auction. In the meantime, however, Kinkade feels he can’t do anything but paint.

Glen (Peter O’Toole), a mentor and famous artist who lives next door, suggests that Kinkade create art to give people hope.

This film tells the story of Kinkade’s inspiration for his painting, “The Christmas Cottage, and the spark that began his career.



Yes Man (15)

Carl Allen is officially a “no” man. Saying yes to everything isn’t easy for anyone, and this is especially true for Carl.

But one day, Carl realizes that his life is too dull and decides to sign up for a self-help program based on one principle: to say yes to everything. Change is difficult but Carl starts off well by saying agreeing to everything, from bungee jumping to finding a date online.

This can-do spirit even gets him a promotion. However, such an affirmative spirit isn’t so good in some cases.

Will Carl be able to stick to his “yes” pledge, no matter the circumstances?

Journey to the Center of the Earth (All)

Scientist Trevor Anderson (Brendan Fraser) discovers a note in his missing brother’s copy of “Journey to the Center of the Earth,” the Jules Verne novel. He considers this a clue to his brother’s whereabouts. With his nephew, Sean (Josh Hutcherson), he starts a journey to Iceland, where he enlists the help of a mountain guide. But during their trek, they are captured in a cave after an abrupt weather change. Inside, they fall through a tunnel to the wild and unpredictable center of the earth. There, they find fantastic flora and unprecedented fauna. They have to find their way to the surface although it seems impossible miles deep from the Earth’s crust.



Ponyo on the Cliff (All)

The goldfish princess Ponyo (Yuria Nara) thinks the sea has nothing to offer and dreams of living on land. A jellyfish ride to the surface lets Ponyo see a lot of unconventional scenery but it’s only a fleeting taste of another world.

Sosuke (Hiroki Doi), a 5-year-old boy, ends up rescuing Ponyo one day and takes her to land. There, she starts to make a living. However, Ponyo’s great adventure doesn’t last long as her father, Fujimoto, drags her back to where she belongs against her will. But with a bit of luck - and the help of a big wave - she heads back to land. This modern take on “The Little Mermaid” features the touch of Japanese animation master Hayao Miyazaki. Watch the relationship between Ponyo and Sosuke unfold in this fantasy adventure.



Twilight (12)

Before moving from her home in Phoenix, Arizona, to live with her dad in the northwest coast of the U.S., Bella thought she was an ordinary girl. But in her new town, she finds that her blood smells particularly tantalizing to vampires - and some of her neighbors just happen to be blood-suckers.

Fortunately for Bella, her new vampire neighbors have sworn to hunt only animals. But her fragrant blood succeeds in attracting the affection of one of the vampires, Edward. As they are swept up in their romance, Edward realizes that Bella is also irresistible to other vampires - ones that haven’t taken his family’s vow to abstain from humans. Can Edward protect Bella while navigating the shaky boundaries of vampire-human love?
