이곳은 특이한 술을 만들어 죄수들에게 준다. 도수가 약한 황주(黃酒)와 요즘의 배갈인 백주(白酒)를 한데 섞은 것. 이 술이 묘하다. 한국식으로 이름하자면 ‘폭탄주’에 해당하는데, 술을 마시면 죄수들은 괜히 히죽거리며 웃는다고 했다. 술을 마신 뒤 그릇을 던져 깨는 관행이 이어져 술집 이름이 그렇게 붙여졌다.내가 한 영작

일전에 미국 관타나모 수용소의 포로 고문 방식이 한국전쟁 때 중국 인민해방군이 사용했던 것이라는 미국 신문의 보도가 나왔다. 고문을 폭로한 기사이기는 하지만 그 방식이 ‘메이드 인 차이나’라는 점을 강조했다. 달리 교재가 필요 없을 텐데. 고문과 혹형은 동·서 구분 없는 과거 유물이다. 아직 사용된다는 것이 불행이다.

The article emphasized that the torture methods were “made in China.” But it is doubtful that they had to refer to another country’s textbook to torture prisoners there. They must have had their own methods. Torture and severe punishment is a legacy from the past ⓑboth in ⓒEast and West. It is unfortunate that they are used today as well.
