High note
The Bank of Korea yesterday unveiled the design of a 50,000 won ($33) bill to be issued in June. It will be the first Korean banknote to feature a female historical figure. Shin Saim-dang, a well-known artist who died in 1551, is depicted on the front of the buff-yellow bill to be added to the current banknote lineup of 1,000 won, 5,000 won and 10,000 won notes. The new bill is 6 millimeters longer than the 10,000 won note but the width is the same. The new bill is fitted with a range of cutting-edge anti-forgery devices such as a vertical hologram stripe and a special pigment that shifts the color of he “50,000” figure from magenta to green or vice versa, depending on the angle.

“첫 문장의 뼈대는 the Bank of Korea(한국은행이)….unveiled(공개했다)….the design(도안을)….이 됩니다. 시점은 (yesterday) ‘어제’이고 도안은 (of a 50,000 won bill) ‘오만원권의’ 도안입니다. 이것은 {to be issued (in June)} ‘6월에 발행될’ 지폐입니다. 문장의 뼈대를 말하여 본 후에 다시 한번 문장의 수식어까지 붙여서 말해 보도록 하세요. 제목에서는 지폐를 금액을 ‘표시’했다는 의미에서 ‘note’라고 했고 첫 문장에서는 똑 같은 단어를 피해 지폐를 ‘bill’이라고 했습니다.”
