[NEW RELEASES] The Veronicas

테스트

Iron lungs? Check. Copious amounts of eyeliner? Check. Penchant for black and hot pink? Check.

With their second album “Hook Me Up,” The Veronicas deliver some high-powered, high-pitched girl rock.

This is not a band for anyone with a Y chromosome, but it’s perfect for gals who need a scream-a-long.

Angst runs high in the lyrics of identical twins Lisa and Jess Origliasso, running the gamut from cheater’s guilt to irresistibly toxic love. They hit the ground sprinting with the hyperactive hit “Untouched” and keep up the energy with “This Is How It Feels,” which is this decade’s answer to Pat Benetar’s “Love Is a Battlefield.”

The album can get a little rah-rah at times, what with obvious lyrics like “We wanna change the world/ We wanna change your attitude.” That being said, a handful of these songs will definitely be joining those of my girl Kelly Clarkson on my personal scream-a-long playlist.
