Space for all

President Lee Myung-bak called on the international community to collaborate on space programs in a speech marking the opening of the 60th International Astronautical Congress in Daejeon yesterday, saying the development of space and related technologies is linked to the survival of mankind. Lee also said Korea wants to participate in the international moon expedition project. Over 3,000 officials, scientists and spectators from some 70 countries are expected to join the annual IAC event, which was launched in 1950 in Paris. It will run through Friday. By Cho Mun-gyu
