New forum launched for overseas students

The Korean International Student Forum, or KISF, held its launching ceremony yesterday at the Korea Foundation Cultural Center in Jung District, central Seoul.

Sponsored by the Presidential Council on Nation Branding, the KISF provides an opportunity for international students in Korea to discuss issues concerning their welfare while living here and aims to broaden exchanges between undergraduate and graduate students in the world.

The forum comprised 34 general and 10 associate student members from over 20 different countries.

“We are proud that we have contributed in establishing the organization that could represent opinions of other foreign students in Korea,” said 28-year-old Prakash Dhamala from Nepal who heads the forum’s organization team. Other distinguished guests at the ceremony included Euh Yoon-dae, chairman of the council; Roland Davies, head of British Council Korea; and Linda Myers, head of the SK Global Talent Management Team.
