Silky way

Workers make final touches to a “Silkworm Bridge” yesterday that connects Montmartre Park, behind Seocho Police Precinct in southern Seoul, and Seoripul Park, behind Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital. The bridge, which is 3.5 meters (11.4 feet) wide and 80 meters long, will open today. The bridge was built in the shape of a silkworm because there used to be a cocoonery at the location during the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910). The construction began last January with a 4.2 billion won ($3.6 million) budget. [YONHAP]
